Dodge Farms, LLC is run by father and son - David and Doug Dodge. We are a family owned and operated farm in Henderson, NY. We grow corn, soybeans, wheat, and also have a blueberry patch. We value our family and our land, and take measures to preserve the land so it can be handed down to the next generations. There are currently three generations living and working on the farm, something that we are very proud of.
Doug and David are both graduates of the Cornell School of Agriculture, and have spent their whole lives in agriculture. Doug's daughter, Julia, is currently a student at SUNY Cobleskill, and intends to return to the family farm after graduation.
The Dodge Family has been farming in our area for over 200 years! We have been at our current location since 1969, when David and Nancy bought the property now known as the "Home Farm". The farm has been through several transitions over the years. Until the late 1980's, we milked dairy cows and provided for them on our land. We have also custom raised heifers and beef steers, as well custom harvesting for other farmers in the area.
We currently grow, maintain, harvest, and dry corn, wheat, and soybeans throughout Jefferson and Oswego Counties. We grow a majority of our corn for grain, although we do also sell it out of the field as silage corn. We also grow several hundred acres of winter wheat and soybeans, both of which are harvested for grain. We use Precision Agriculture in order to get the highest yield out of our fields while also protecting the land.
We are proud to produce the highest quality grains possible, and have devoted our lives to this.
Our family lives on the land we farm on, and the land is our past, present, and future. We are proud to continue to provide a profitable lifestyle and safe environment for our family, and adapt to the challenges we are met with.
